    Battlefield 6 Is Free on Steam, but Not for Long

    Battlefield 6 is available to play free on Steam until 20 October, as its fifth season begins. The trial includes every multiplayer map and mode, giving players a chance to try the game before buying it.

    Season 5, launched on 13 October, adds maps, six weapons, two vehicles and the free-to-play mode Rapid Royale, and teases a limited-time Halloween crossover with Dead Space. Steam is also discounting the Standard Edition to $27.99 from $69.99 until 20 October. Some players have criticised battle pass cosmetics over suspected AI-related design errors, though EA has not confirmed AI was used.
