Metallica have shared professionally filmed footage of “The Call of Ktulu” and “…And Justice for All” from the opening night of their Las Vegas Sphere residency on 1 October. The videos show how the venue’s large-scale visuals frame the band’s performances, including a huge Cthulhu rising from the sea and a towering recreation of the bound Lady Justice.
“Ktulu” includes a new orchestral introduction and ends with a dedication to former bassist Cliff Burton, who died 40 years ago; Robert Trujillo, Kirk Hammett and Lars Ulrich feature in the performance. The “Life Burns Faster” residency is scheduled to run through March 2027, and the band have also announced a 2027 leg of their M72 tour.
