Steven Spielberg’s $301M Fantasy Officially Says Goodbye to Streaming
Steven Spielberg’s 1991 fantasy adventure *Hook* is due to leave Peacock in the United States on 1 November. The film remains divisive: Spielberg has repeatedly said he was unhappy with it, while its audience score suggests it has found a lasting following.
Starring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman and Julia Roberts, *Hook* earned just over $300 million worldwide against a reported $70 million budget. It has a 37% critics’ score and 76% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Later Peter Pan adaptations, including films released in 2003 and 2015 and Disney+’s *Peter Pan & Wendy*, did not match its commercial success.
