Cheshire officer sacked for abusing his position to pursue women
Former Cheshire Police constable Anthony Spelman was dismissed without notice after a misconduct hearing found he had committed gross misconduct. The report said he abused his position for sexual purposes, including pursuing a woman whose son he had arrested.
Between April and September 2023, Spelman exchanged highly sexualised messages with 12 women, sending or receiving up to 90 a day while on duty. He also accessed pornography on his personal phone at work and discussed a desire for rape role-playing; he has been barred from re-entering the police profession.
