Steam’s Achievement Sets beta aims to stop new content breaking your completion status
Valve is beta testing Steam Achievement Sets, which let developers group a game’s achievements into collections. The feature is intended to make achievements easier to find in games that receive ongoing updates, while preventing new achievements from undoing players’ completion status.
Each set has its own progress bar and awards a profile trophy when completed; adding achievements later preserves that completion until the player returns. Base Game sets are available to all players, while DLC sets track achievements for purchased content separately. Developers can also archive achievements or sets, and players get an updated achievements page with filters and comparisons with up to three friends. The beta is open to players and developers, with sets already available in 17 games.
