The Best Transformers Movie That No One Watched Finds New Life on Streaming

The animated prequel *Transformers One*, which tells how Optimus Prime and Megatron became friends before turning into enemies, is finding a new audience on Netflix. Its arrival in the platform’s US top 10 suggests the film is receiving more attention after a poor cinema run, and could renew interest in a franchise whose recent releases have struggled.

The film reached No. 6 among Netflix’s most-watched movies in the US this week, according to FlixPatrol, after spending several years on Paramount Plus. It earned $129 million worldwide, which was not enough to secure the planned spin-off franchise. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry voice Orion Pax and D-16, with Jon Hamm, Scarlett Johansson, Laurence Fishburne and Keegan-Michael Key also in the cast; the film is available on both Netflix and Paramount Plus.
