SHAVO ODADJIAN On Playing Stadiums With SYSTEM OF A DOWN: ‘We’re Having Fun Again’

System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian says the band is enjoying performing together again after a period when playing had stopped being fun. In an interview, he linked the group’s hiatus to tensions and members being in different places, and said their current stadium shows feel meaningful despite the band’s uncertain schedule.

The group has not released a studio album since 2005 and has toured intermittently since returning from its hiatus in 2011. Odadjian said younger fans now attend alongside the original audience, and that he would prefer lower ticket prices and more shows so more people can see the band. System Of A Down regularly sells out stadiums and has more than 26 million monthly Spotify listeners.
