Eagles’ Jalen Hurts placed on injured reserve after superficial blood clot found in his calf area

Fox News ·

Philadelphia has placed quarterback Jalen Hurts on injured reserve after a follow-up scan found movement in a superficial blood clot in his calf. He must miss at least four games while the team determines treatment, leaving the struggling Eagles without their starting quarterback during a key stretch.

The Eagles said Hurts first sought calf treatment after being cleated in the 4 October game against the Rams, then practised fully and played without limitation against Jacksonville in London. He is set to miss games against Carolina and the Eagles’ three NFC East rivals, and could return in Week 11 against Pittsburgh after the team’s Week 10 bye. Backup Tanner McKee, who has started twice in his career, is expected to face the Panthers.
