Forget ‘Fast X,’ the Franchise’s Wildest Street-Racing Adventure Is Officially Leaving Netflix

Collider ·

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is due to leave Netflix on 1 November, giving viewers a limited window to watch the franchise’s street-racing spin-off. The film is an unusual entry in the series, made without Vin Diesel or Paul Walker in lead roles, and later became important to the wider story.

Directed by Justin Lin, it follows Sean Boswell, an outsider who moves to Japan and gets drawn into drift racing. The film earned about $160 million against a reported $85 million budget and has since developed a cult following, despite mixed reviews and a 37% Rotten Tomatoes score. Christopher Nolan has said he has a “soft spot” for it.
