Damaged McLaren catches fire again weeks after fatal California crash

Daily Mail ·

A wrecked McLaren 720S involved in a fatal crash in Irvine, California, caught fire again while stored at a secure vehicle facility in Costa Mesa. The blaze, which injured no one, is being investigated; authorities say they do not suspect arson.

The original crash on 13 September killed car influencer James Wehr, 27, and Alexis “Lexi” Kramer, 22. Investigators believe the car’s badly damaged electrical system may have caused the second fire, but have not established the precise trigger. Kramer had travelled from Florida to meet Wehr after they connected on Instagram.
