Could injured Giants star Jaxson Dart return for the playoffs? Surgeon doesn’t rule it out

Fox News ·

A surgeon says he cannot rule out New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart returning for the playoffs, if the team qualifies. However, he cautions that bringing him back too soon could risk his long-term career, while the team has reason to prioritise his recovery.

Dart had surgery on 25 September to repair his left meniscus and address MCL and PCL damage; estimated recovery is four to six months. Four months falls on 25 January 2027, two days after the scheduled start of the divisional round. The Giants are 3-1-1 and lead the NFC East, while Dart’s coach John Harbaugh has called a playoff comeback an ambitious prospect.

  • A playoff return is possible, but uncertain.
  • Dart’s recovery is estimated at four to six months.
