Andrew Battenberg returns to court over aunt’s $7m estate will

Daily Mail ·

Andrew Battenberg has returned to court seeking a share of his late aunt Blanche Condon’s estate, worth more than $7 million. The latest hearing concerned security for legal costs, not whether Condon revoked her final will, which left Battenberg nothing.

Condon signed that will 21 days before her death in 2016, removing Battenberg after earlier wills had left him $20,000 and then $50,000. A solicitor said she was relieved he was no longer included. The NSW Court of Appeal refused Battenberg leave to challenge an order requiring him to lodge $253,000 for the executors’ costs, calling his claim that the judge had prejudged the case “baseless”. He says Condon signed a letter revoking the will the following day; his earlier challenges to the will were unsuccessful.

  • Battenberg is pursuing a claim against his aunt’s $7 million-plus estate.
  • The appeal court upheld a $253,000 security requirement.
  • His claim that she revoked her final will remains undecided.
