World News Conjure Jangle Pop Glory On New Album ‘In Purgatory’

London band World News have released their debut album, *In Purgatory*, drawing on 1980s indie pop with bright, shimmering guitar lines and raw energy. Its lively sound and comedic lyrics sit alongside serious subjects, including grief, break-ups and the weariness of modern life.

Recorded at RAK Studios in central London with producer Tommy Bosustow, the album explores sharing difficult feelings and finding a way to move on. The band say it has no single defining theme, but combines references to death and depression with humour and a sense of hope. Their tour begins on 20 October at London’s Scala.
