Football club president who built 24ft ‘eyesore man cave’ in garden faces £100,000 court battle with neighbour who wants it demolished
Justin Salmon, president of non-league Sutton Common Rovers, is in a court dispute with his neighbour, Andrianna Neophytou, over a 24ft garden structure in Coulsdon, south London. Neophytou wants it demolished, arguing it breaches the lease and remains an eyesore despite changes Salmon made after an earlier tribunal ruling.
Salmon first received permission to build a pergola in 2017, then added a shed and developed the structures into a furnished garden room with a bar, television and carpet. The Salmons say the altered structures are now an ordinary shed and pergola; Neophytou says they remain one long building. The case is expected to generate more than £100,000 in legal costs.
- A neighbour is suing over a 24ft garden structure.
- An earlier tribunal found it breached the lease.
- The court will consider whether the changes were sufficient.
