Russell Brand Trial: Police Asked Accuser What She Was Wearing During Alleged Oral Rape in Bar Toilet

The Hollywood Reporter ·

A complainant’s police interview was played in Russell Brand’s trial at Southwark Crown Court, in which she alleged that he sexually assaulted her in a Soho bar toilet in 2004. The case is part of a wider set of allegations against Brand, who denies all charges.

She said Brand grabbed her breasts, dragged her into the toilets and forced her to perform oral sex, then approached her again in a car. She described freezing and complying because she feared further assault, and said she contacted police in 2023 after seeing reports of other allegations. The interview also showed an officer asking what she had been wearing; she said she did not dress in a revealing way. Brand’s defence questioned why she had not told anyone sooner, while she said she had told people he grabbed her breasts.
