Arizona mother of seven killed by train while filming her run
Thelma Candelaria, a 47-year-old mother of seven, was killed by a train while jogging beside railway tracks in Eloy, Arizona, and filming on Snapchat. Her death has left three of her children, who are minors, without their mother, and relatives have started a fundraiser to help support the family.
Her daughter Alaisha said Candelaria was filming one train when another approached on a different track from the opposite direction. She was wearing noise-cancelling headphones and did not see or hear the oncoming train; investigators said the engineer activated emergency braking. Police found her dead near Sunshine Boulevard and Frontier Street and are continuing to investigate.
