Fox Sports Soccer Announcer John Strong Is the New Voice of the Westminster Dog Show (Exclusive)

Fox Sports soccer commentator John Strong has been named the new in-venue announcer for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He succeeds Michael J. LaFave, who held the role for 25 years, as the event prepares for its 151st show in New York in early 2027.

Strong has seven years’ experience hosting Westminster’s Best of Breed competition for Fox and has called its Masters Agility Championship, alongside major soccer events including the World Cup and MLS. Evening group judging and Best in Show will stream live on Netflix on 1 and 2 February, while daytime breed competitions begin on 30 January at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and will stream on the club’s website and YouTube.
