Fan-made game based on Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie has PS1 graphics, fixed camera angles, and looks awesome

Destructoid ·

A TikTok creator is developing a fan-made game based on Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil film, recreating its opening in the style of the series’ PlayStation-era games. The early footage has drawn interest for its fixed camera angles and retro graphics, though the project uses licensed material and could attract legal action.

The prototype features Brian, played by Austin Abrams in the film, encountering a zombie dog in a barn. Its creator, known as @notreallyjulian or nocturne, has also shown wounded animations and voice acting; Brian currently uses the face model of an older Chris Redfield. The project is still in progress, and the article notes that Sony or Capcom could seek to shut it down.
