Uefa gives Fifa deadline to answer governance questions and release records
Uefa has given Fifa until 2 November to answer more than 50 questions and release documents about its decisions and governance. The demands renew pressure on president Gianni Infantino’s leadership after he declined to give substantive answers at a recent Fifa Council meeting.
The questions cover a proposed sale of 20% of Fifa’s commercial rights, the Folarin Balogun affair, Infantino’s links with Donald Trump and preparations for next year’s presidential election. Uefa also seeks information on the World Cup draw’s move to Washington, hydration breaks, the final’s 27-minute half-time, and reported conflicts of interest. It wants any refusal to disclose material to be explained individually.
