Stolen family rabbit found alive after being abandoned in Hull car park

Daily Mail ·

Two men stole Peter, an eight-year-old family rabbit, from a garden pen in Hull while his owners were out. CCTV shows one man carrying him by the ears as the pair laughed and allegedly talked about making shashlik from him; the footage prompted a search and raised concerns about the rabbit’s welfare.

Peter was found in a car park about a mile away the following afternoon by someone who gave him food and water and contacted the family after seeing their missing-pet posts. A vet checked him and he is expected to recover, despite being wheezy and subdued. His owner, Amy Ulliott, said she and her teenage children feared he was dead and were deeply distressed by the footage.
