More than 200 graded Pokémon and sports card parcels stolen in California
More than 200 packages of graded Pokémon and sports cards were stolen from a FedEx truck outside Professional Sports Authenticator’s headquarters in Santa Ana, California. The theft matters to collectors because many cards are rare or irreplaceable, and the confirmed value of the missing items is already substantial.
PSA’s parent company, Collectors Holdings, says it is working with police and FedEx, has alerted marketplace partners and deactivated certification numbers for identified stolen cards. The reported value is over $963,000 and may rise as the shipment is checked; affected customers are being offered compensation up to the insurance limit they chose. One victim said they had sent 104 cards for grading and insured them for up to $156,000.
