Amazon MGM Studios is the film and television studio owned by Amazon, which also runs the Prime Video streaming service. Its films can be released in cinemas, made available to stream, or reach audiences through both routes.
Julie Rapaport has worked at the studio since 2015 and became head of movies in 2022. Alana Mayo has led Orion Pictures, a film label within the studio, since 2020; both executives report to Courtenay Valenti.
The shared leadership comes as the studio’s film slate has grown to more than 30 releases a year. How the work is divided matters to the planning and development of those films, which are intended for cinema and streaming audiences.
