AMD is bringing its next-gen FSR 4.1 upscaling tech to Xbox
AMD is bringing its FSR 4.1 upscaling technology to Xbox Series X and S consoles and several Ally handhelds. The feature could help less powerful devices run games more smoothly while maintaining image quality.
FSR renders games at a lower resolution to save resources, then uses machine learning to sharpen the image. AMD has not given a release date: a video suggests the Xbox Ally X may get it before year-end, while other devices are listed as coming soon. FSR 4.1 is also coming to older RX 6000-series graphics cards and laptops with Ryzen AI 9 processors.
