Worried About PS6 Price? Next Xbox Could Be as Much as $1,800
Microsoft has reportedly projected that its next console, Xbox Helix, could cost between $1,200 and $1,800, raising questions about how it will compete for players. The price is not final, and Microsoft may subsidise the system, but the figures suggest affordability could be a major challenge for the next generation.
A Fortune report also says Helix is planned for 2028, with a next-generation handheld due next year; it is unclear whether Microsoft will build that device itself. Sony’s PS6 is also rumoured to cost more than $1,000, amid rising component costs, while 65% of more than 4,700 respondents in a Push Square poll said they would refuse to pay $1,000 for it.
