Ryan Day says quarterback Julian Sayin is out ‘indefinitely’ as Ohio State prepares for season without him

Fox News ·

Ohio State coach Ryan Day says quarterback Julian Sayin is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, and the team is preparing for him to miss the rest of the regular season and College Football Playoff. The uncertainty is a major setback for the No. 3 Buckeyes as they enter the latter part of the season.

True freshman Luke Fahey, who replaced Sayin in the fourth quarter of Ohio State’s 19-15 win over Indiana, will start while Sayin recovers. Sayin injured his throwing shoulder when Indiana’s Mario Landino sacked him; he later returned to the sideline in a sling. He has thrown for 1,772 yards, 17 touchdowns and two interceptions this season, while Ohio State has a bye before facing No. 16 USC on Halloween.
