Roseanne Barr challenges Hollywood to give her another shot after controversial ‘Roseanne’ exit

Fox News ·

Roseanne Barr is seeking another television opportunity eight years after being fired from the hit reboot of “Roseanne”. She has financed a new sitcom, “Meemaw: A Modern Day Fable”, and is pitching it to potential buyers, saying she believes it could be a number one show.

The sitcom follows a Texas prepper and matriarch of a mixed-race family, and features Drea de Matteo, Omar Gooding and Randy Quaid. Barr says it is partly based on her life and that she has not yet shown it to anyone; she also says an approach to Elon Musk has gone unanswered. Recalling her departure, Barr maintains her tweet about Valerie Jarrett was political rather than racist, and claims ABC asked her to give up rights so “The Conners” could continue; she says she received no payment for its seven seasons.
