Singer Jack Avery Faces Off in Court With Influencer Ex Accused of Dark Web Plot to Kill Him

A TikTok influencer accused of plotting to kill singer Jack Avery appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom as her former boyfriend testified about what she allegedly said after an FBI raid. The hearing will decide whether Avery can extend a domestic violence restraining order and whether Gonzalez may have contact with their seven-year-old daughter while her criminal case proceeds.

Cody Clayburn testified that Gonzalez told him her ex, Kai Cordrey, wanted to help “get rid of” Avery and that a Bitcoin payment had been made; prosecutors allege Gonzalez, her father and Cordrey conspired to hire a hitman through the dark web. All three have pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and solicitation to commit murder, charges carrying 25 years to life if convicted. Clayburn also described disputes over childcare and said Gonzalez’s family disparaged Avery during his video calls with their daughter.
