HBO Max Officially Revives One of the Best Sci-Fi Shows of the 21st Century
HBO Max has acquired *Orphan Black* in a co-exclusive streaming deal with Peacock, bringing the full sci-fi series back to major streaming platforms. The move gives viewers another chance to watch a show praised for its exploration of cloning, identity and ethics, and for Tatiana Maslany’s performance.
The series originally ran on BBC America from 2013 to 2017 and has five seasons comprising 50 episodes. It holds a 93% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and became popular on Netflix after its streaming debut there last year; that licence has now expired. No further plans for the franchise have been announced: the spin-off *Orphan Black: Echoes* was cancelled after one season.
