Man charged over alleged assaults on three Jewish women in Hackney

Daily Mail ·

A 33-year-old man has been charged with three assaults by beating after three Jewish women were allegedly attacked in Hackney, north London. One woman was pushing a pram on Upper Clapton Road when a man allegedly stopped and punched her twice; the case has prompted increased police patrols and an appeal for other victims and witnesses to come forward.

Abdisamad Siad, from Islington, is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court. Police said the women suffered minor injuries and that Shomrim, a local voluntary neighbourhood watch group, detained a suspect before officers arrived. Siad has also been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent over a separate incident in Islington, which police say is unrelated and not being treated as antisemitic.
