7 Funniest ‘Calvin and Hobbes’ Comics About Calvin’s Mom and Dad

Calvin’s unnamed parents are the focus of seven comics that show how their different relationships with their imaginative six-year-old create much of the strip’s humour. The selections highlight them as an exhausted but affectionate team, often finding common ground as they cope with Calvin’s antics.

The examples include the parents hesitating to admit whether they regret having a child, Calvin impersonating his father, and his father choosing work over a day at home after Calvin’s mother discovers bugs in her shampoo. Other strips play on the father’s misleading answers to Calvin’s questions and show a more tender moment as his parents look for Hobbes.
