Murder arrest over British tourist’s Greece death
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Jacqueline Causton, a 66-year-old British woman who died while on holiday on the Greek island of Zakynthos in May. The arrest was reported at an inquest opening in Doncaster, where police said fresh evidence had emerged and the investigation was complex.
Causton was found unresponsive at her villa on 14 May, taken to hospital and later pronounced dead; her body was returned to Britain. The man was first arrested on 12 June, bailed and then arrested again the previous weekend. Greek authorities still hold some investigation material, potential witnesses include foreign nationals, and the CPS has not decided which country will lead the investigation; a further inquest hearing is due in February 2027.
