Mach9 raises $34m to develop AI software for engineering surveys
Mach9 has raised $34 million in Series A funding after shifting from building inspection hardware to AI-powered computer-aided design software. The company says customer demand showed that the harder problem was turning large volumes of scanner and image data into usable surveys for engineering and infrastructure decisions.
Its private beta has nearly 100 customers, who have used the software on more than 2,500 projects. Mach9 says its system makes survey work ten times faster and uses in-house AI models to produce measurements accurate to the centimetre; the round was co-led by First Round Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners.
