Caroline Flack’s brother died by suicide while heavily intoxicated, inquest hears

Daily Mail ·

An inquest heard that Paul Flack, the 55-year-old brother of presenter Caroline Flack, died after hanging himself at his home in Norwich in June. The coroner said he was under the influence of alcohol, but recorded that his intent was unknown; the case has drawn attention to the grief and other difficulties he had faced.

The inquest was told Mr Flack had a history of depression and 296mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, nearly four times the drink-drive limit. His sister died in 2020 and his father died last November; he was also concerned about reduced freelance work. His daughter found him, neighbours tried to resuscitate him, and he was later pronounced dead in hospital.

In short

  • Inquest heard Paul Flack died after hanging himself at home.
