NBCUniversal’s Peacock Posts Second Consecutive Profit in Third Quarter
Peacock posted a second consecutive profitable quarter, reporting a pre-tax profit of $261 million in the third quarter. The result marks a turnaround from a $217 million loss a year earlier and comes as Comcast faces falling overall revenue and continued broadband customer losses.
Peacock had 48 million subscribers, up from 41 million a year earlier but unchanged from the previous quarter, and revenue rose to $1.8 billion from $1.4 billion. The quarter included $224 million in incremental advertising revenue from FIFA World Cup games shown at its start; the previous quarter’s $189 million profit also benefited from World Cup coverage. Comcast said it expects a restructuring charge of more than $1 billion in the fourth quarter and plans to complete its Versant separation by mid-2027.
In short
- Peacock made $261 million in pre-tax profit.
- Subscribers reached 48 million, flat quarter to quarter.
- Comcast expects a restructuring charge above $1 billion.
