Ex-cop sped away in hedge fund’s SUV after fatal George Washington Bridge road rage shooting: report

Fox News ·

Former NYPD detective Victor Romero is accused of fatally shooting Con Edison worker Koran Irvine during a road-rage encounter on the George Washington Bridge. Prosecutors say Romero drove away in an SUV owned by his employer, QVT Financial, and the case has drawn attention to the video evidence and his alleged flight from the scene.

Prosecutors allege the men nearly collided as they approached the bridge, after which Romero tailgated Irvine before firing one shot into his car, striking him in the shoulder. Romero, 62, faces a first-degree manslaughter charge; a judge set bail at $1 million, and he is due back in court on 27 October. Authorities say they recovered three handguns, including a revolver Romero allegedly carried daily.
