‘Closure’ Director Michal Marczak Set for Narrative Feature Debut With ‘Perfection,’ About Hipster Millennials in Berlin (EXCLUSIVE)
Polish documentary filmmaker Michał Marczak will make his narrative feature debut with *Perfection*, a drama adapted from Vincenzo Latronico’s novel. The project explores the gap between the idealised online image of life in 2010s Berlin and the dissatisfaction experienced by a young expat couple, Anna and Tom.
The book, shortlisted for the 2025 International Booker Prize, has been translated and sold in more than 40 countries. Producers Roman Paul, Andrea Calderwood and Marta Donzelli are developing the film, with Marczak writing an English-language screenplay; the project is at an early stage, starting with a treatment.
