- His career includes Big Deal Music and senior A&R roles at RCA and Epic.
Explained simply
Music publishers work with songwriters to develop songs and connect them with singers and other recording artists. Nashville is a major centre for country music, so companies that want to grow in the genre often build teams there.
Position Music is an independent music company with publishing and recorded music businesses. Pete Robinson has worked in artist and repertoire roles, which involve finding and developing talent, and in music publishing; he helped establish Big Deal Music, a Nashville publisher later acquired by Hipgnosis.
Robinson’s appointment comes as Position Music looks to expand its Nashville work with artists and songwriters. His experience across publishing and record labels helps explain the role he is taking on and the company’s focus on country music.
