Yaga Episodes 1 & 2 Recap and Review

IGN ·

Yaga, Kat Sandler’s modern retelling of the Baba Yaga folktale, begins with a grisly image and builds a mystery around a missing billionaire. The first two episodes mix horror, seduction and humour, leaving viewers unsure what is real and suggesting the folklore’s morally complex figure may take unexpected forms.

In the small island town of Whittock, investigator Charlie Rapp and Sergeant Carson search for Henry Park, whose family hired Rapp. Henry’s roommate Logan looks strikingly like him, and Rapp appears to have a past connection to the missing man. The review highlights Carrie-Anne Moss’s alluring Katherine Hargrove and ends its account of Episode 1 with Henry texting Rapp: “STOP LOOKING FOR ME.”
