Explained simply
Amy Winehouse was a British singer and songwriter whose second album, Back to Black, was released in 2006. It drew on soul and jazz influences and became her best-known record, with songs including “Rehab” and “You Know I’m No Good”.
The album was made with producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, alongside musicians who performed with Winehouse. Her music has continued to be performed by other artists since her death in 2011, and anniversary concerts give audiences a chance to hear the record in a live setting.
