Man City’s leaky defence highlights Donnarumma & Guehi struggles

Aston Villa’s 2-1 win ended Manchester City’s perfect start to the Premier League season and exposed defensive problems that could threaten their title challenge. City have kept only one clean sheet in six matches, while Arsenal have moved level on points and have conceded far fewer goals.

Nicolas Jackson scored twice at Villa Park, where City have now conceded nine goals in their past four matches. Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marc Guehi have each made three errors leading to Premier League goals since the start of last season, more than all but eight players. City are conceding 1.13 goals per game, compared with Arsenal’s 0.625; manager Enzo Maresca said both Villa goals were avoidable.
