Taylor Dayne says she has been cancer-free for four years after treatment for stage 2 colon cancer, which was detected during a routine colonoscopy despite her having no symptoms. As she prepares for her first Las Vegas residency, she is urging people to keep up with screening and speak up about their health.

Dayne, now 64, said doctors found numerous polyps, including an aggressive one, when she was 50. US guidance recommends that adults at average risk begin colorectal cancer screening at 45, while some people at higher risk may need earlier checks. She says surviving cancer has strengthened her focus on her health and her role as a mother.
