Parker McCollum wants his sons to learn the lesson hunting and ranch life taught him growing up
Country singer Parker McCollum hopes his sons will grow up sharing the connection to ranch life and the outdoors that shaped his childhood. Time with his two-year-old, Major, at the family ranch has begun that tradition, and McCollum says these trips are a way to slow down and spend time together.
McCollum recalled going on hunting trips with his father from about the age of eight, as well as helping with cattle on his grandfather’s ranch. His second son, Rocker, was born in July. McCollum says family visits involve unhurried routines such as cooking breakfast, hunting in the evenings and riding around, and hopes his sons will remember not to let work or other worries crowd out that time.
