Coronation Street star returns to cobbles after 11 years
Ian Puleston-Davies is returning to Coronation Street as builder Owen Armstrong, nearly 11 years after the character left Weatherfield. Owen’s comeback matters to the soap’s family drama: he will move in with daughter Izzy and grandson Jake, while blaming Gary Windass for the family’s troubles.
Puleston-Davies, 67, said he was pleased to return and take on a new storyline, adding that Owen was still angry. Filming begins next week, with Owen due back on screen in January. Since leaving the soap, the Flintshire-born actor has appeared in Pennyworth, Tin Star and After The Flood; producer Kate Brooks said his return would test his relationship with Gary.
