Pokémon Unite closing down for good, but you’ll still be able to use it afterwards, sort of
Pokémon Unite will close its online service on 23 March 2027, ending the free-to-play MOBA after nearly six years. A new Library feature will let players revisit some of their progress afterwards, offering a limited record of items and achievements rather than removing access to everything.
A special event runs until the shutdown, and the Library becomes available on 12 November. Players must open it before service ends so it can save their data; that data is stored locally, may not transfer to a new device and may be unrecoverable if lost. Launched in 2021 on Switch and later mobile, the game has already been withdrawn in some European countries over concerns about loot boxes.

Explained simply
Pokémon Unite is a free-to-play team game in which players control Pokémon and compete to score points against another team. It launched in 2021 on Nintendo Switch and later became available on mobile phones. The game’s online service supports its matches and other features.
The game is part of the Pokémon franchise, and players can unlock or collect items and record achievements as they play. Some European countries have already withdrawn it amid concerns about loot boxes, which offer random items. After the online service ends, the Library is intended to preserve a limited record of players’ progress.
