Explained simply
Prime Video is Amazon’s subscription streaming service, which commissions films and television programmes as well as offering titles from other producers. In Germany, its local originals include dramas, films and entertainment shows made for German audiences.
Sasha Bühler has worked in film commissioning and production, including at Netflix Germany, another major streaming service. As Head of German Originals, she will oversee which local projects Prime Video develops and releases, while reporting to the executive responsible for originals across Northern Europe.
Local programmes can help streaming services attract and keep subscribers in a competitive market. Decisions about which stories to fund also shape what German-made films and series reach audiences at home and abroad.
