Everything But the Girl Ready New Album Blue Reservoir
Developing story first seen 3 hours ago
Everything But the Girl have announced *Blue Reservoir*, a 10-song album due on 19 February, and released its first single, “Young and Dumb”. The record follows 2023’s *Fuse*, which ended the duo’s 24-year break, and signals a return to a direct, guitar-led sound shaped by their Moth Club residency.
Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt’s London performances last year informed the album’s direction. Watt wrote and performed much of it on Spanish nylon-string guitar; longtime collaborators Rex Horan and Evan Jenkins play double bass and drums, with Fabio de Oliveira on percussion. The album is being released through Buzzin’ Fly/Virgin Music Group.

Explained simply
Everything But the Girl are the British duo Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, who began making music together in the 1980s. Their sound has moved between acoustic pop, electronic music and dance, and the two have also released work separately.
After a long break, Thorn and Watt returned as a duo with 2023’s Fuse. Their later live performances at London’s Moth Club helped shape a more direct, guitar-led approach, with Watt joined by longtime collaborators on bass, drums and percussion.
The album’s release marks a continuation of the duo’s return to making music together. It also connects their newer work with the guitar-based sound that was part of their earlier career.
