Lord of the Rings Officially Debuts New 2026 Release Ahead of ‘Rings of Power’ Season 3

Daybreak Games and Standing Stone Games have released the Wolves of Mordor expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online. Set after the War of the Ring, it follows Sauron’s remaining servants and the wolves of Mordor as they pursue those who defeated their master, extending the story of Middle-earth beyond the familiar conflict.

The release arrives amid renewed interest in the franchise, with The Rings of Power Season 3 scheduled to begin on 11 November and a new live-action film, The Hunt for Gollum, planned for next year. A separate open-world Lord of the Rings game is also in early development by Warhorse Studios, though few details have been announced.
