Explained simply
Skydance is a film and television company led by David Ellison. Its television business includes studios that make programmes for broadcasters and streaming services, as well as teams responsible for entertainment, sport and news. Warner Bros Television Group, CBS Studios and Paramount Television Studios each have their own history and production operations.
The executives named to run these units include Channing Dungey at Warner Bros Television Group, David Stapf at CBS Studios and Matt Thunell at Paramount Television Studios. Their roles sit within a wider structure that also covers CBS entertainment, news and sport. The arrangement matters because it sets out how the combined television business is organised and who is responsible for its different parts.
