Michael Douglas says Jack Nicholson has “disappeared” and won’t act again
Michael Douglas says his longtime friend Jack Nicholson is well but has stopped working as an actor and is unlikely to return to films. His comments offer a rare update on Nicholson, who has largely stayed out of the public eye for years.
Douglas said he still sees Nicholson, who spends time near his home, and added that he understands his decision to step back. Nicholson’s last film role was in 2010’s *How Do You Know*; he withdrew from *Toni Erdmann* before filming began and appeared at the 2025 SNL50 special. Douglas co-produced Nicholson’s Oscar-winning *One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest* in 1975, though they never acted together.
