Explained simply

Aerosmith are an American rock band formed in Boston in 1970. Singer Steven Tyler, guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton and drummer Joey Kramer became its best-known line-up, making hit records such as “Walk This Way”.

Kramer was part of the band for decades, but stopped performing with them in 2020. Aerosmith later ended touring in 2024 after Tyler injured his voice. The group’s history and long-standing ties between its members help explain why his return to the stage drew attention.
